Seeing Dementia Differently
A Community for Young Dementia Carers
Our Purpose
To create a community for young people who are looking after a loved one with dementia, that offers compassionate guidance, clear information and real connection, built from lived experience.
Ways to Connect
You don’t have to do this alone. We have a variety of online groups for caregivers. You can connect with other young dementia carers and rare dementia carers. Share advice, talk about experiences, and feel understood. Our groups include:
Caring for a Parent, Caring for a Grandparent, Young Carer (Not Dementia Related), PCA Caregivers, Neurodivergent Caregivers, & Dementia Professionals.
Community Groups
Talking about dementia isn't always easy. Maybe you're not sure how to tell your friends, teachers or family, or you're still working out how you feel.
You don't need to have it all figured out. Our 1:1 support is tailored to you and your situation. We can talk by phone, video call, or in person (depending on location). If you need a non-judgemental, confidential place to talk, this is support designed for you.
1:1 Support
Our monthly Carers Conversation series shares genuine, personal stories from young people who are caring for a loved one with young onset or rare dementia. We hope you find comfort in shared experience and that this series helps you feel understood.
Our amazing guests have shared about FTD, PCA, PPA, Young-Onset Alzheimer’s, and Vascular Dementia.
Carers Conversations
We know that you need a break sometimes. Our community in-person events are tailored to people affected by younger onset dementia, and there is never any expectation to talk about it.
We have events that are just for young adult carers because having a space of your own is important. And we have events where everyone is welcome, including those living with dementia.
Community Events
We have a library of dementia resources. Ranging from safety tools like the Herbert Protocol, and home fire safety checks, to Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) dementia specific resources to help you understand the condition and support your loved one.
We are always building more resources and looking for good ones to share. Take a look at each of the headings at the top of this page.
Resources
