Karaoke & Connection: Our First In-Person Dementia Carers Social Event
Join us for a fun-filled afternoon in Watford on July 14th!
We know that as a carer for someone with young-onset dementia, life is often focused on caregiving, appointments, and routine. Sometimes, you just need a break—a space to relax, have fun, and connect with people who truly understand your journey.
That’s why we’re hosting our first-ever in-person event at Boom Battle Bar in Watford. Whether you’re ready to sing your heart out, hit the dance floor, or simply enjoy a drink and a chat, this afternoon is all about you.
Event Details
Date: July 14th
Arrival Time: 15:00 (Grab a drink, mingle, and get settled)
Karaoke Starts: 15:30
Location: Boom Battle Bar, Watford (Info below)
Capacity: Limited to 20 people to keep the group intimate and friendly.
What to Expect
After our hour of singing and dancing, you are more than welcome to stay longer. The venue offers fantastic games, food, and drinks, so feel free to keep the social time going!
Who Can Attend?
This event is inclusive and open to everyone in the dementia community. While we are passionate about supporting young carers (defined for our group as ages 8–30), you do not need to be a young carer to attend. Everyone is welcome!
Accessibility & Accommodations
We want this event to be comfortable for everyone.
Bring Your Loved One: You are invited to bring your loved one living with dementia. We offer a reduced ticket price for them.
Quiet Space: We understand that loud environments can be overwhelming. We will have a dedicated quiet space available throughout the afternoon if your loved one needs a break from the activity.
Additional Needs: Please let us know in advance if you require any specific accommodations, and we will do our absolute best to ensure you are supported.

*THIS IS A STANDARD TICKET. It is available for anyone who wants to come along but isn’t a young carer or person with dementia. This includes professionals, parents, and friends.

A space to chat and ask questions about dementia, young onset dementia, and rare dementia
Signposting to relevant services if requested
A quiet space to step away from the event if needed
*THIS TICKET IS SPECIFICALLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA. We recognise it may not be possible for young carers to attend without bringing their loved one so we have provided it at a subsidised rate. Please contact us if there is still anything preventing you coming - we want to help out.

Getting there -
By car - There are 3 car parks all within a 5 minute walk to the venue
By Train -
We advise you to travel to Watford High Street Station. It is a 3 min walk from the venue.
The Lioness line stops directly at Watford High Street station if travelling from London
You can also travel to Watford Junction but the walk to the venue is closer to 10 mins.
By Bus -
Many local bus routes serve the Atria Shopping Centre area. Check services for: 8, 10, 103, 142, 258, 306, 318, 319, 320, 352, 398, 500, 501, 520, 602, 635, 724, 832, R2, W1, W18, W19, W20, W21, and W30.
